Winning the Wrinkle War

Hi Friend,

Have you sometimes found yourself walking down the street feeling lonely? I call it the Wrinkle War. Are you hoping you might run into another just like you? Maybe they’re feeling lonely, too? I have. I’d love to meet someone else with their own “wrinkle war” (whatever that means).

I’m not just talking about our faces. Your face is only where you feel the first urges to begin Winning the War. Wrinkles come in many forms and places beside skin. They are spiritual things. They can show up anywhere—your heart, your chest, your energy, your motivation, your courage, your enthusiasm—they tend to show up gradually, everywhere, when you begin to feel old-ER.

I’d like to assure you that it’s O-KAY to feel old-ER. That’s when you begin to feel the first urges. It happens to all of us sometime on the Trail of Life— that whisper of loneliness. I’d just love to chat with someone who wants company on the trail. This Road, too, is getting old-ER. Yet the Apostle Paul often reminds us, in the letters he writes, that we all do better in community with someone else like ourselves. We all need company.

At least, that’s the way I feel about this lonely trek we are on—especially after the Wrinkle War starts to announce itself.

Anyone agree with me? Please feel free to pick up where I’ve left off to add some Wisdom to this War on Wrinkles. Let’s chat about it. Let’s discover how to laugh about it. Remember, discussion likes company. Community spurs HOPE. 😊

In His Love,
Colleen
